Thanksgiving fun in Fargo and Christmas preparation (17 Months)

We had so much fun in Fargo for Thanksgiving!  Lucas had a blast playing with Naia and Fin and we all loved meeting sweet baby Piper.  We made lots of great memories and can't wait to all be together again in Costa Rica in April.

Upon returning home, we received a big snowfall and cold temperatures.  We received lots of jokes that we brought the cold Fargo weather back with us.  No problem for Lucas as he doesn't even feel the cold temperatures and still wants to be outside all the time.  He enjoyed sledding with our neighbor, Ives.

Decorating the Christmas tree was great fun (thank goodness for shatterproof ornaments!)...

Lucas and daddy donned their aprons and helped make Christmas cookies (under mom's close eye and direction).  Lucas is a pro with the sprinkles but he got sidetracked when he tasted the frosted cookies.

 Happy 17 Months, Lucas!

Growing and growing (16 Months)

Some days I wonder where my baby went...Lucas is growing up so fast!  He has fully transitioned to the toddler room at daycare and is learning so much every day.  He comes home with amazing pieces of art....and bags full of dirty clothes.  He is busy!

This past weekend we went to the Butterfly Pavilion.  He loved looking at the insects and fish....and the drains (why does he love drains so much?!)

Lucas also stays busy in the kitchen "helping".  Looks like he is going to take after auntie...

16 Months....so looking forward to the holidays and seeing family!

Happy Fall and My Favorite Things!

Lucas is really developing quite a personality and it is so much fun to watch him every day!  He absolutely LOVES to read and can't get enough of books right now.  He is also adding lots of new words - he loves to say uh-oh after he throws something on the floor (usually food!) and says ball, car, cat, cow, momma and dada.  We are still waiting for the "no!" to come.

Lucas also loves his bath time.  He will splish and splash until the bathroom floor (and mommy and daddy) is completely soaked.  We don't mind....he has so much fun!

Two weeks ago, Lucas had his first haircut.  He didn't REALLY need one....but just got a little trim.  He sat very nice and didn't wiggle too much!

Pumpkin carving was a great success and Lucas dug right in!

We have had a gorgeous fall and last weekend enjoyed a beautiful walk at the Botanical Gardens.  Lucas still sits nice in his stroller (which I know won't last too much longer....).

Another great Halloween in our neighborhood....the kids looked so great all dressed up.  Next year, we want to pick a theme for the kids' costumes.  The women are thinking Wizard of Oz and the men are voting for Lord of the Rings.  I think the women will win!

Happy Halloween!

14...and 15 Months too!

Life has been busy...not quite sure how people do it with 2 or 3 kids.  Speaking of, we are happy to announce Sarah had a little girl last month - we can't wait to meet Piper Ann at Thanksgiving.  We have Skyped with her and she is just beautiful!

Lucas has started walking and is so much happier now that he is on the move.  Although it involves a lot more running on our end, we love to see him enjoying his freedom.  He is so very proud of himself!

All the neighbor kids dressed up in Bronco's colors for the first game....we are still Vikings fans at heart and Zach was not happy about this photo shoot.  (These are just the kiddos that live in our courtyard....we are lucky to have so many little friends that live so close!)

Fourteen Months and all grown up!

At the Urban Farm...

Fifteen Months...

Today we went to the little pumpkin patch at the Farmer's Market.  It was hard to get Lucas to look at us as he was so interested in the pumpkins.  His Halloween costume is still undecided....stay tuned!

Sunny San Diego

We had a great time in San Diego celebrating our 5-year-anniversary.  We arrived to the airport and headed straight to Sea World....

We missed Lucas the entire time we were there and wished he was with us to enjoy all the shows.  We stayed in La Jolla about a block from the beach.  Every morning we would go and get coffee and walk down to the beach to watch the surfers.

We got in plenty of beach time at Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach and Coronado Island.

We had a great trip but we were happy to arrive home to our little boy after 3 nights away!

Happy Camper! (13 Months)

We will start with the 12-month photo, since we got that one done a little late!

Cousin Alex, Uncle Aaron and Auntie Nicole came for a visit 2 weeks after the big birthday.  Lucas absolutely LOVES being around his big cousin!  It is so great to see them play together.  We are already looking forward to the trip to Vegas at Christmas with the whole Bisek family.

Hanging out in Boulder...

The handsome boys!

Camping with a one-year-old...what an adventure!  Well, we certainly "camped" in style with our rented pop-up camper.  We have never had heated mattresses, a refrigerator and running water while camping before....and I don't know if I will ever be able to go back.  We went to Estes Park with our friends, Sarah and Justin and they were certainly good sports entertaining Lucas on the car ride with the harmonica.  There is nothing that Lucas loves more than being outside so he was in heaven the entire weekend.  I see many more camping trips in our future...and if this mom gets her way, many more nights on a heated mattress too!
King of the campground!

This is how he spent most of the time on the hikes.  The mountain air certainly tired him out!

Uncle Matty came to visit a week after our camping trip.  We love our visitors and sadly we don't have any more that we know of this year.  While Matt was here, we had a little get together at our house...Lucas and his little friend, Nora.

13-months!  This coming weekend we are going to San Diego to celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary....we will certainly miss this smiling face....
